Looking for a Catamaran Cruising Blog?

If you found this blog via a link from a cruising site ~ we did cruise Mexico on our Ocean 49 cat for a season. See the first text box on the right for links to our preparations, trip down Baja, life in Mexico, cruising and trip back up to SoCal. Unfortunately we are back to the grind in the USA...

Work - Down to the Wire...

I have seven more days at my current job. Yikes. That's less days than years that I have been back from the last time I left...
Were you able to follow that?

When my boss emailed my co-workers "the big announcement" (well it was big to me), he said maybe someday they would see me in a Corona commercial.

Little did he know, I've been doing my own Corona ads for years...

A Little More on La Paz!

A lot of people are interested in what we are (will be) doing down in La Paz! I have a link to the company I will be working with - over to the right "Mortgages Available in Mexico". And Cliff, who is a friend of John's (my brother-in-law) has a lot of pictures of La Paz - his link is also over to the right. He also has "Google Earth" shots of La Paz and some of the lots available. Both links have great info on buying property in Mexico!

Here is the "only hill" by La Torquesa - my brother in law has lots available on the hill. This is when I was standing below the hill and facing Isla Cerralvo and the Cerralvo Channel. We took our old boat, "Thistle" through this channel three times! This is also one of the top fishing areas around!

The cactus is nice, but I'm sure the view would be great from the hill!
Imagine being above the cactus...
I didn't do much exploring due to the shoes I had on...

But the beach at La Torquesa... kind of crowded isn't it?

IT IS OFFICIAL!

WE ARE MOVING TO LA PAZ, MEXICO! This is La Paz from the air!
It's a growing city with some great opportunites for us (details to follow).
The marina in the center is Marina de La Paz, where we will be!

La Paz~~~

Where the sunsets are beautiful!

Where the beaches are beautiful (well, outside of the City)!

Where the water is incredible!

Where the views are great (and we have lots for sale)!

Where the provisions are plenty!
Hey - you can't find these chips in the USA!

Where we will hang with the "big guys" (not)...
but you never know!

Where I hope to have my office (on the street behind the beach, not on the beach - although that wouldn't be too bad either!)

Where the cold Pacificos await (in a can)!

I did mention the sunsets, didn't I?Details of what, why & how we are doing this will follow.
Just wanted to get your attention...

Happy New Year 2008!

Other than the wind blowing at 35 knots all night, we had the calmest New Year's Eve ever!
Jim was asleep by 8:15, but I stayed up until 9:30...
We actually started burning the candles Kellie had given me a few years back for my birthday (they are heavy... they gotta go!)...Had a potroast and nice glass of Frank Family Zinfandel then watched part of "Shrek II" - do we know how to party or what?

New Year's Day found us more wind - all day, but also found us a lot of boat projects done and things tossed and no hangovers! I guess we are getting old...
