Looking for a Catamaran Cruising Blog?

If you found this blog via a link from a cruising site ~ we did cruise Mexico on our Ocean 49 cat for a season. See the first text box on the right for links to our preparations, trip down Baja, life in Mexico, cruising and trip back up to SoCal. Unfortunately we are back to the grind in the USA...

Our Plans That are Written in Sand at Low Tide...

Well, here we go.
Up into the Sea.
We start in La Paz.
Then head North (sort of).

Then we go to Isla San Francisco and hopefully don't bump bottom at 3 am this time....Then hop along the coast beach combing and diving our way up to San Evaristo.Where hopefully we won't have to re-stock on beer quite yet...

Then to the lovely pink sandstone and yellow cliff surrounded Los Gatos.Beach combing heaven!

Then Nopolo maybe.
A few other places.
Then Agua Verde.Where we can buy fresh goat cheese.
Not that Jim likes it...

Then a bunch of other places, like Isla Montserrate, Isla Carmen, Loreto, who knows...

Then back here for the big plans...
Uh oh.
Big provisioning.
Pick up Stanwich and Timay from the airport, then go South.
Yep, South around the Cape.
Then North.
Yep, North up the Baja.
Doing the Baja Bash.
Returning to Southern California.
Ick.
Time to work.
Time to head back "home" for awhile.
Unless someone out there wants to adopt us or sponser us?

I especially love those pink rocks at dawn and sunset, don't you?

What an excellent itinerary! Don't even think about CA now. Just enjoy.

Will there be any work when you get here? Or did your company save you a spot? Unemployment seems to be rampant right now, up over 10%.

I did not know that you guys are coming home!! Yeah I'm exicted!! Hopefully you will have an easier time finding a jobthan I am doing. I even applied with the Unemployement office but all I have heard is that they have recieved my application. You would think that they would be faster at hiring people since they are so overworked right now!

Loreto and Isla Carmen are my favorites (especially Balandra Bay)

Have fun. I hope you have a good bash up here. We'll try to say Hi as you pass thru.

Awww, I'm so sad for you to have to come back home to a real job. But then you'll need socks. You aren't coming home just for socks are you?

Guys, enjoy the Sea! It shouldn't be too awfully hot yet. The summer we were up there, we felt like we were being slowly roasted on a BBQ pit of a larger being. It is so beautiful and the diving is great. I wish I were there to dive with you. Remember the Channel Islands when I couldn't get back in the dinghy. I was so cold, I felt like a popsicle. I remember Heather belly laughing. I still laugh about that too. Thank goodness you two were there to haul my big butt back in.

Have a great time, be safe, and don't think about SoCal right now. It will be there later. Argh!

I was just reminded from Townsend Tales that Jim turned 50 in November. I guess we can't call you the kid anymore...damn. I think spending a wonderful cruising season in Mexico is your way of celebrating your 50th year of life. Good on ya! Happy, happy 50th year, Jim. Have a great rest of the season.

We all have to go home sometimes, though. By the time we sell our house and buy a boat maybe both of us can be headed back. Enjoy the sea for all your buddies. Mollie

It's fun scribbling on maps, ain't it? Good directions; I now know where to get beer, goats milk (great for making fresh ricotta) and where to hang out on the island.
