So all the ex-G Dockers.
Current G-dockers ~ is anyone left there?
F or even H-dockers...
Remember Bob on "Vamonos"?
I lovingly called him "Old Man Bob"?
Walked with a cane?
Eventually graduated to a walker.
Talked as loud as full volume at a surround sound movie theater?
Which made us all talk that loud so he could hear...
Remember "Vamonos"?
When Old Man Bob left the dock for greener babes at the old folks home, the boat was sold to someone who was going to give her a face lift.
An interior lift.
A rigging lift.
A new life.
Well, the someone passed her along to someone else.
Who offed it to someone else.
Who offed it onto us.
Who is offing it into the recycle bin.
Keel goes to the lead factory.Or somewhere.
Where ever lead goes.
The once pretty hull.
The once fast hull.
Sits on her belly.Awaiting the next incision.
Cutting away her mast.
Her boom.
Her winches.
Her rails.
Her soul...
So Glad I Went to the Doctor!

That's sad... no one wanted her? Why, was she in that bad of shape?
That makes me sooo sad! Why would anyone want to do that?
It was gutted inside. Filthy & disgusting. Nothing inside, but just a bare hull. The old man never cleaned so when he left the dock someone bought it with ideas of restoring it. They gutted it, then got tired of it. Someone else took it over and got tired of paying storage. So if they don't want to pay and it's not something we can sell, then we get what we can. And in this case it was 8000 pounds of lead (hopefully 8000 - will go and check with El Jefe this am to see how much it weighed). Helps make payroll on a slow week...!
I thought Vamonos was a dog???
Suzie, Vamonos was such a famous dog they named a boat after her! Except that Vamonos' real name was Cindy, but I think she liked our name for her better :)
Dang, what a shame... I'dve taken her. Well, it least she's going for recycling...
We have a few more ADDU! A Santana 22', a Columbia 36' and a power boat or two!
As much as I'd love to take the Columbia, gettin' er down to Oz would be tricky. And the moorage fees.
It's tempting though... if only I was rich. Dammit!
Now I'm sad....and 3,000 miles away.......give her a last salute for us and minute of silence for her and old Bob and to the memories of worrying about them both!
Love Jeannine & Jim
I will Jeannine! No kidding on the worrying about him. Oh boy...
