Looking for a Catamaran Cruising Blog?

If you found this blog via a link from a cruising site ~ we did cruise Mexico on our Ocean 49 cat for a season. See the first text box on the right for links to our preparations, trip down Baja, life in Mexico, cruising and trip back up to SoCal. Unfortunately we are back to the grind in the USA...

Aaagggghhh - Oh So Crowded.

So I actually did a few things today.
Stress the word, "few".
Washed the dishes from last night.
Washed the cockpit sunshades and the hatch bugscreens.
Was going to post a picture of that but figured it would bore you to tears...
So didn't.

Off for a float at The Mogote.
Where the water is 85 to 90 degrees.
Seriously.

But again, oh those crowds.
Hoards.
Masses of people...

Mexico sounds like my kind of place... I love not having to deal with people on the beach, I thought my sister was going to beat the crap out of a Japanese sand slinging girl in St. Thomas.
I love the water to be warm so I'm not chilly when I get in and it feels really good to get out. Don't like it nipplie. And sleeping in the heat doesn't bother me. Yep this will be my next out of the country destination.

We are jealous...
We had FOUR fans blowing on us last night and still couldn't sleep. Probably 95 degrees at 11:00 pm in our stateroom.
Thinking of moving the kayaks out of the nets up forward and sleeping out there... Or rigging a hammock between the two hulls... Or putting a hammock chair off the radar arch and sleeping in the water...

I have a portable a/c almost identical to the one you have. They're great when they work. (No problems yet). It's the humidity. I wonder if you could get a dehumidifier in La Paz? BTW, I've added your blog to my blog list. We love La Paz. Maybe see you this winter? 1st Mate & I...

Hey, the worst is almost over, right? Kirby should be there - he loves the heat so much and doesn't mind sweating! I can't sleep if I am too hot!

I think sleeping in the water could be really interesting...take pictures!

I reeeally feel your pain. I can remember a time in San Carlos when it was sooo hot that I could actually feel the void the mast suspension post (4" diameter) made in my fan breeze. That's pretty pitiful. At 9 a.m. one morning, the sweat was running off my face so much that I just hung my head and let it drip. We packed up and left the next day. Ray, me and Fritz partnered up with Frank and Dana (Blue Snail) and Shithead the Cat and climbed on a bus headed for the border. We rented a car in Tucsan and drove around in the desert because it felt cooler. Fritz didn't even know the cat was in the car until we got to California! It's a classic example of a pure miserable time turning into one of the fondest memories we carried away with us from Mexico. That was a trip and a half.

Fritz must have had heat stroke to not notice a cat...
And it will be cold in January! I will actually be able to wear a t-shirt! Yahoo!
