If you found this blog via a link from a cruising site ~ we did cruise Mexico on our Ocean 49 cat for a season. See the first text box on the right for links to our preparations, trip down Baja, life in Mexico, cruising and trip back up to SoCal. Unfortunately we are back to the grind in the USA...

Off to Mazatlan!
Picked up our smiling guests yesterday afternoon!
Said adios to our friends in La Paz! Said adios to Tom and Tanya!
And now this morning, once it gets a little more light off we go!
I know you guys have cut the dock lines by now. So, hope you had a great crossing. Ahhh, that Mazatlan central market is so fabulous. The first time we went to Maz after being in the Sea for so long with sparse provisions, I thought I died and straight to heaven when I entered that market!
Try to keep in touch once in awhile. I know how challenging that is when cruising. We will miss your daily posts. But when you do get to post, they are going to be filled with great adventure. Love you all four of you. Lucy
What a wonderful adventure you are going to have and with the best crew in the world! We keep thinking of moving to Mazatlan in a few years. You can let us know if it is still wonderful. Enjoy the Market. And those little taxis - can't remember what they are called. And climb to the lighthouse and walk the malacon - do it all for yourselves and then do it for us! Love you!
I keep checking 4 - 5 times a day! Where are you? I thought you would find internet right away. You must be having fun instead of worrying about your blog! Yea!
I need to know - can you still get that great smoked tuna at the market? I would almost kill for some of that!
Please tell Alan and Susan hello for me. Tell Alan I'm sorry to say this but I like "Meerkat" better than his boat. Also Susan you look great in that Red Jacket at the airport. Alan looked like he had to much to drink on the plane. Enjoy your holiday. I love this website. Have put it into my favorites list. John Carney Windsor, CA
Welcome John! I just read this outload to Alan and made him laugh! He was SO excited to get off that plane and on to our boat :) And Alan likes this boat a lot too... he has spent enough time on it that it's almost his as well!
We cruised Mexico's West Coast for 3 years on our prior boat, "Thistle" a Columbia 50. Went back to California in 2000 and bought the "new boat" in 2004. We then spent a year and a half cruising in Mexico. We just did the "Baja Bash" ~ sailed up the outside of Baja and returned to SoCal! We are We are now back to work for awhile...
A thought we say to ourselves everyday:
"You'll only regret the things you didn't do".
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." ~ Mark Twain

"A ship in harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for." ~ John A. Shedd
"Make it happen." ~ Alan Burg of the sailing vessel Toshal
"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the places and moments that take our breath away." ~ Anonymous
