The many times we had been in Barra de Navidad on "Thistle" we had never explored the Grand Bay Hotel. So when the guys were taking their "geezer naps", me not being a geezer, went for a walk around the hotel grounds. All the streets are "paved" with interlocking bricks (we guessed at 10 million bricks or some ridiculous number), the pool is incredible with a tunnel slide that the kids all love, the beaches are clean with aligned lounges and cabanas, swimming areas are roped off, the landscaping is exquisite, hammocks hang from the palms and the view of the entrance, lagoon and town is incredible!
