Looking for a Catamaran Cruising Blog?

If you found this blog via a link from a cruising site ~ we did cruise Mexico on our Ocean 49 cat for a season. See the first text box on the right for links to our preparations, trip down Baja, life in Mexico, cruising and trip back up to SoCal. Unfortunately we are back to the grind in the USA...

Saturday 03-29-08 ~ Ensenada Grande, Isla Partida to No Named Cove #7, Espiritu Santo

The usual am "stuff".
I made bacon and Pam fried up the leftover potatoes and onions with scrambled eggs.

Dinghied in to the beautiful beach and had to walk the dinghy for awhile as the water is so shallow.
Explored the beach and found a trail back into the canyon.
Bees...
Forget the trail.
Back to the boat.
Had a charter power cat anchor right on top of us.
Hmmmm... if the South wind picks up again, he will be 20' in front of us.
Our sign to leave this anchorage.
So "Let's go check out another anchorage!"
Pulled anchor and cruised along the islands - very pretty!
Lots of wind coming through the cuts at El Cardonel and Caleta Partida, so headed to the next cove, No Name #7,
Tall walls on each side, so would be good protection and no one was in there.

The guys went snorkeling and I went kayaking (not sure what Pam did!)...

The beach was beautiful and there were only two other kayakers on the beach.
Talked to them - they were camping a few coves down.
They left, and then it was just me...Back to the boat for reading and swimming (floating).
The guys went fishing.
I finished my book.
Beautiful afternoon and evening lighting.

Made tacos for dinner and Pam cleaned up (she's such a good cleaner - just ask Benjamin!)...
To bed (early for me after the lack of sleep the night before due to the wind)!
