Looking for a Catamaran Cruising Blog?

If you found this blog via a link from a cruising site ~ we did cruise Mexico on our Ocean 49 cat for a season. See the first text box on the right for links to our preparations, trip down Baja, life in Mexico, cruising and trip back up to SoCal. Unfortunately we are back to the grind in the USA...

Thursday 03-27-08 - Muertos!

Up to another beautiful morning and sunrise.Coffee & net.
I made potatoes, onions and bell peppers and Pam scrambled some eggs, which we enjoyed with chipotle and flour tortillas.

Tim got the kayaks ready & took off for the point.
I explored the bay in my kayak.I checked out the fancy houses, the point, the coral heads and the water and watched a small shark swim along (glad I was in a pink kayak, not "yum yum yellow")...

Back to the boat to wait for John and Johnny, who came out to the boat. This was the first time Johnny had been on a boat (other than when he was a baby) and he did great! He wanted to stay!

Johnny made Tim and Stan jealous, as he had a peanut butter sandwich (and had the crusts cut off - I had to ration the peanut butter with Tim and Stan...)

All of us to the beach to say adios to John and John.

Watched the fishermen clean their catch and the birds fight over the parts being tossed. The frigate birds are pretty good about stealing parts right out of the mouths of the pelicans and gulls. They were also flying directly over our heads.

Which meant one of us was "going to get it sooner or later"...

Stan was the "lucky" one and got it!

To the Giggling Marlin for lunch!

Still can't believe they built this in Muertos...

But it was great!
Had margaritas, beers, burgers & combination plates.
I had a perfectly decorated burger...

And the views of the bay were great!

Back to the boat - I kayaked around a little more.

Another beautiful afternoon and sunset over the hills. The guys went to bed 5 minutes after the sun went down. Pam & I figured out the rules to "gin" and played cards until the late hour of 8 pm...
