A year with relatively few hurricanes, Fausto was a Category 2 Hurricane when it moved across the peninsula on Aug 12-14. Hurricane Fausto did relatively little damage, but provided several days of significant rainfall, and seemed to stall for nearly a day over La Paz."

Hurricane Fausto 2008 is supposed to get up to a Category 2 this afternoon, but it is way, way South of us and not heading our way.
This is just my claim to "Hurricane Fame", as Fausto 96 was the only one I have been through...

I was out on the water in the Gulf when typhoon Holly hit Alaska back in the early 80's. Not fun.
