If you found this blog via a link from a cruising site ~ we did cruise Mexico on our Ocean 49 cat for a season. See the first text box on the right for links to our preparations, trip down Baja, life in Mexico, cruising and trip back up to SoCal. Unfortunately we are back to the grind in the USA...

Just Another Average Mega Yacht Pulling In
Ho hum. 156' behemoth shiny, spotless and pristine yacht. Launched in August of this year. Oh lookie! Now there are two at the end of our dock... Do you think they will invite us over for cocktails? Only if Jolea was crew...
So on these boats...are they just full of rich owners with a gaggle of bimbo blondes in bikinis sunning themselves on the decks. Or are these boats powerhouses of revolutionary plotting and hotbeds for spreading wealth to all? ;)
Always a gaggle. Well, no not really. A lot of the times it's only the crew. There was a total bimbo gaggle the other day on another one of these. A complete "Look at me! Look at me! I'm a bimbo on a mega yacht!" gaggle. Pretty much wanted to barf after about a hour of their parading around. Ok, Jolea on my way! I'm back. They can't see me, as I am invisible to them. There was one guy up on the radar arch top washing and drying that would be a guy for you. Then his dad was below washing. Then some guy that could have been the first guy's dad... not for you. And there are at least 2 or 3 female crew members... looks like your position may already be filled. The blue boat's name is "Slojo" - we googled it. Other one I can't read the name as the back door is always open. Ok back to my teeny tiny wanna be mega yacht...
They spend all that money on those big fancy boat and their neighbors are within spitting distance..... don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I wouldn't live on one of them, I'd be there in a heartbeat.
So I really did walk over there later and asked the youngen if they needed a stew and he said they were full at the moment. I think he thought it was me looking for the job, so I said it was a friend who did that for a living. Gee, hope it wasn't the glass of red wine I had in my hand that caused him to tell me they were full... but it was in a nice GLASS, not plastic, so that should have helped! Sorry Jolea :( I tried!
Haha! Thanks Heather! You rock! I KNOW SLOJO!!! They were in the yard with me in Seattle! They left a couple of days before I did. Yeah there is like one cute guy. That boat is brand spankin new. It was built at Delta Marine where I was. Very cool boat. The owner of Slojo owns Wrigley's Gum. How's that for the inside scoop?!?! Phillip (deckhand on my last yacht) used to walk by singing the Juicy Fruit song every day.... I bet the crew loved it. The old version too..
"Get your skis shined up, grab a stick of juicy fruit, the taste is gonna move ya! Take a sniff, pull it out, taste is gonna move ya when you pop it in your mouth!"
Haha! Of course Phillip was dancing/walking by the boat while singing... loudly...
We cruised Mexico's West Coast for 3 years on our prior boat, "Thistle" a Columbia 50. Went back to California in 2000 and bought the "new boat" in 2004. We then spent a year and a half cruising in Mexico. We just did the "Baja Bash" ~ sailed up the outside of Baja and returned to SoCal! We are We are now back to work for awhile...
A thought we say to ourselves everyday:
"You'll only regret the things you didn't do".
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." ~ Mark Twain

"A ship in harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for." ~ John A. Shedd

Ok, I'm going to go sing the song and walk the dock. ;)
So there really are mega yachts adorned with bimbos... I'dve thought that was only in the movies.
I would've made introductions too. Not just to the one with the bimbos either :)
