We were supposed to go to Los Arcos, but the employees there are still on strike!
So off to La Panga at Marina Palmira.
LUCKY US!
We got a ride in Anita's way cool VW van! They had a wonderful table outside all set up for us.
Great view!
And now it's time for another edition of "Welcome to Heather's Small World".
We introduce ourselves at these lunches, which is really cool because sometimes you have heard the person on vhf or have heard of them from a friend.
So I said we were from Ventura, California, blah, blah, blah.
And then a lady further down the table said her boat's name was "Gaia" and they bought it in Ventura.
Well all you Ventura people, remember when we had the giant, disgusting, huge, overwhelming stench fish die off in the harbor from the red tide?
And a bunch of us spent an entire day scooping the sticky, nasty, slimy dead fish out of the water and dumping them into 50 gallon trashcans, which the harbor patrol would then take away and dump about 4 miles offshore?
Remember that?
Eeewww...
Well I do.
I spent the day next to Darryl (the prior owner of "Gaia") scooping fish and trying not to barf.
He probably remembers that day as well.
Luckily I didn't take any pics that day...
And then!
The lady across the table told me she too, bought her boat in Ventura.
A Catalina 27 named "Sabrina".
Well, I knew that boat too!
It used to be owned by Tim and was on C Dock when we were on C Dock.
Don't you just love my small world!
Ok, back to lunch.
Yum!
Gina
My dream car is a 21 Window VW Van...
It's Anita's dream car too!

YAY I love ladies lunch day! Way cool van.
You sound like Jolea... "I know that boat, and that one and oh... that one too." Looks like ya'll had fun.
I can't wait to be a Lady of Cruisure again.
Spoke to Senor Garcia today. Boy did he make me feel homesick. I reckon I'm going to head directly to Mx in March.
That's great you got to talk to Saltshaker (as we know him). Hopefully he said nice things about me... HA HA HA!
Good decision.
Oh and Jomamma - the difference between Jolea and me however is the size of the boats we know... I know the 27 to 50 foot range and she knows the 100 to 200 foot range. Hmmmmmmm... one of us will be expensive as we grow older. ;)
Ha, I could have already told you that... I raised her and tried to keep her on a budget.
