Looking for a Catamaran Cruising Blog?

If you found this blog via a link from a cruising site ~ we did cruise Mexico on our Ocean 49 cat for a season. See the first text box on the right for links to our preparations, trip down Baja, life in Mexico, cruising and trip back up to SoCal. Unfortunately we are back to the grind in the USA...

Hurricane Nordork 2:30 pm Update

Still some major gustage going on, but we are all ok here tucked in at Costa Baja.
We have had steady winds at 30-40 (and we are protected by buildings) and some gusts over 60 mph and higher.
I have a big pot of chili on the stove and Dave and Kellie just came down the dock for a visit and maybe some games.
Interesting chatter on vhf:
Boats dragging.
Some idiot in a power boat driving around telling people he was only reading 20 knots of wind.
A freighter coming in to anchor.
A big power boat in trouble out by the islands.
And a lot of opinions.
Still no electricity, so pics will follow down the road (when I can use the big computer).

So glad you are safe and that the worst is over. 60 - 70 knots is not fun whether in a marina or on the hook (we did that on a mooring!) Now the fun of undoing everything!

Yeah, it's hard to hold a wine glass in 60-70 knots.
:)
Right. Now my turn.
Eek.

On the latest infrared satellite, San Carlos will only get the "green/yellow" and we had the red, orange and white. Fine, fine, fine, the cement boat will be fine!
We are going to go take a little walk - still 30 kts or so :)

PS On the wine glass thing, remember we are a catamaran! Our appletini glasses did fine, then our wine glasses did fine! Now "walkies"!
