Looking for a Catamaran Cruising Blog?

If you found this blog via a link from a cruising site ~ we did cruise Mexico on our Ocean 49 cat for a season. See the first text box on the right for links to our preparations, trip down Baja, life in Mexico, cruising and trip back up to SoCal. Unfortunately we are back to the grind in the USA...

Hora Feliz, Music Across the Street and Merry Early Christmas to Us!

Yesterday afternoon there was a pot-luck happy hour in the marina.
Aeron and Mera helped me make tortilla roll-ups.
Two kinds ~ with jalapenos and without jalapenos.
The without was Aeron's idea. They were all eaten, along with some other really good appetizers!
I met some new people and talked a lot with Sue and Alex of "Maitairoa", who we had briefly met in Los Gatos back in some other month.

Then we went across the street because a band was playing.
Oh, first we got Jim.
And ate some meatloaf, then we went across the street.
Oh, and we had a bottle of red wine.
Then we went across the street.

We were entertained by this little girl.

Who came prepared with her own drink.

And wouldn't give me the time of day...

And we entertained ourselves with this lovely green boa.And I am sure entertained others as well...

Today I bought ourselves a Christmas present!

The new Sea of Cortez Guidebook by Shawn Breeding and Heather Bansmer (doesn't she have a great first name?).

If you plan on sailing in the Sea, buy this book!

It is beautifully done ~ the charts, the text, the photography and the special extras, such as bits of history and recipes.

Makes me want to leave the dock RIGHT THIS MINUTE...

Heather, I am so sorry that your life is so miserable and you never have any fun. Maybe you should head north and get a real job again!

Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Instead of sweltering here and watching for hurricanes next summer, I think we will sail North and cruise SoCal and maybe work some.
But not a real job. Just a pretend one.

I LOVE guide books. I read them for places i have never sailed, just in case... I love it. Oh and p.s. Mom bought a bottle of Arbor Mist (boones farm for adults) so I may have to keep an eye out for a green boa myself... she's gonna need it. :)

The 'kool-aid' isn't as good as it is in the summer.

Yeah, another terrible day in the life of Heather and Jim.
Where's the knife......

Oh now no sour grapes folks. We all know how pretty damn difficult it is on poor Jim and Heather down in paradise. The boat life is HARD, HARD, HARD. Oh by the way, did I say how HARD life is south down there?

They will find out the real good life when they go back to the states and GET A JOB!

Just kidding, of course. You guys live it up as much as possible. Out memories of 11 years down there seem like just a blink.

Oh what a faux paux!! I was signed into our Mexico Gang Blog using Kirby and Suzie's sign in so I could add to the posting. I actually wrote about how truly, truly difficult life is in Mexico. I'm still trying to get over how difficult I remember it being. Actually, at times it was pretty frustrating like waiting 2 months to get your AC fixed in the middle of a heat wave!

Ha ha! To you all.
But really ha ha to Lucy for using Suzie's sign in for our group blog. Now we can do that and leave comments from her all over the place - ha ha ha!!!!
